Tesla's New Semi Truck is a game changer in the shipping industry. Three motors power the truck, which Tesla claims has three times the power of a typical diesel semi-truck, an operating range of 500 miles (800 km), and an energy consumption of less than 2 kWh/mi (1.2 kW/km).

Musk revealed over the weekend that one of Tesla's battery-powered class 8 semi-trucks had driven 500 miles while carrying 81,000 pounds of freight. The journey was made from San Diego at the southernmost tip of the state to Tesla's factory in Fremont, California. Musk emphasized that the trip was completed without the battery needing to be recharged.

This truck is 83% cheaper than an average typical truck because it's all-electric it uses less than 2kWh per mile and this will really bring the costs of shipping down for everyone.
